Bexar CMV crashes declined
Bexar County recorded 2,581 CMV-involved crashes in 2025, down 103 or 3.8% from 2024. It remained Texas’s third-highest county by raw CMV crash count.
Bexar alcohol-involved crashes also declined
Bexar County DUI (Alcohol) crashes fell from 1,654 in 2024 to 1,621 in 2025, a decline of 33 or 2.0%.
The declines differed in magnitude
The reported CMV count fell by a larger percentage than the DUI (Alcohol) count, but neither change alone explains why the crashes occurred or how individual risk changed.

Methodology and limitations
Texas Settlement Calculator transcribed the Bexar County values from TxDOT’s 2024 and 2025 CMV-involved and DUI (Alcohol) county tables. Absolute change equals the 2025 count minus the 2024 count. Percentage change equals that difference divided by the 2024 count, multiplied by 100 and rounded to one decimal place.
Bexar County is used as the San Antonio-area anchor for this year-over-year comparison. This is an editorial framing, not an official TxDOT region or a claim that Bexar County represents the complete San Antonio–New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area. Comal, Guadalupe and other area counties are not included in these change figures because this brief uses the verified statewide comparison tables already transcribed for the two flagship reports. The two crash datasets can overlap and must not be added together.
These are raw reported crash counts, not population- or exposure-adjusted rates. The figures do not measure individual risk, establish causation, assign fault, determine insurance coverage or predict a legal result. TxDOT administrative data may be revised.
