Travis alcohol-involved crashes declined
Travis County DUI (Alcohol) crashes fell from 1,182 in 2024 to 1,140 in 2025, a decline of 42 or 3.6%.
Serious-injury counts changed sharply
TxDOT’s DUI (Alcohol) tables show Travis County suspected serious injuries declining from 83 in 2024 to 38 in 2025. The tables do not establish why that change occurred.

Methodology and limitations
Texas Settlement Calculator transcribed the Travis County values from TxDOT’s 2024 and 2025 CMV-involved and DUI (Alcohol) county tables. Absolute change equals the 2025 count minus the 2024 count. Percentage change equals that difference divided by the 2024 count, multiplied by 100 and rounded to one decimal place.
Travis County is used as the Austin-area anchor for this year-over-year comparison. This is an editorial framing, not an official TxDOT region or a claim that Travis County represents the complete Austin–Round Rock–San Marcos metropolitan area or the full SH 130 corridor. Williamson, Hays, Caldwell and other area counties are not included in these change figures because this brief uses the verified statewide comparison tables already transcribed for the two flagship reports. The two crash datasets can overlap and must not be added together.
These are raw reported crash counts, not population- or exposure-adjusted rates. The figures do not measure individual risk, establish causation, assign fault, determine insurance coverage or predict a legal result. TxDOT administrative data may be revised.
