Attorney Territory Subscription Terms

1. Advertising subscription

A territory subscription is a paid, flat-fee advertising placement and eligibility arrangement for consumer-requested attorney inquiries within the defined territory. It is not a purchase of a particular client, case, legal fee, settlement, verdict, or recovery. Texas Settlement Calculator does not receive a percentage of any legal fee or recovery.

2. Territory participation

TSC assigns one participating firm to a defined territory at a time under the current program. An inquiry routed to that participating firm is not simultaneously distributed through TSC to another participating firm for the same territory. Territory boundaries and included markets are those shown on the current For Attorneys rate card at the time of purchase.

A temporary Checkout reservation does not create a territory entitlement. Successful payment reserves the territory to the subscriber, but consumer inquiry routing remains paused until TSC verifies the responsible Texas lawyer, State Bar number, and primary practice location. Participation verification is an operational eligibility check and is not a recommendation or endorsement of the lawyer or firm.

When a verified advertiser is available for a territory, TSC identifies that specific paid participating firm to the consumer before attorney-contact consent. A consumer request is not transferred to a substitute firm if the selected advertiser later becomes unavailable, and an unassigned request is not held for later transfer to a newly participating firm without a fresh consumer request.

3. Billing and renewal

Monthly subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis. Annual subscriptions are prepaid for the annual billing period shown at Checkout and renew on the recurring schedule established in Stripe unless canceled before the applicable renewal. The amount, billing interval, and next billing date shown in Stripe govern the subscription charge.

Published rates may change for future purchases. An existing subscription remains subject to the billing terms and price reflected in its Stripe subscription unless the subscriber is given notice of and accepts, or otherwise becomes subject to, a permitted change.

4. Self-service billing and cancellation

Participating firms may access Stripe's customer billing portal from the TSC attorney dashboard for the applicable territory. The portal may allow the subscriber to update payment information, review invoices, and cancel the subscription. The effective timing of a cancellation—immediate or at the end of the current billing period—is the timing displayed and confirmed in Stripe's billing portal.

When a territory subscription actually ends, TSC releases that territory from the subscriber's paid entitlement and it may become available to another firm.

5. Failed payments and recovery

If a recurring payment fails, TSC may temporarily suspend inquiry routing for the affected territory while Stripe's billing-recovery process remains pending. During that recovery period, the territory may remain reserved to the existing subscriber. If payment later succeeds, routing may be restored automatically only if the participant's verification remains current and the selected advertiser remains active for that territory. If the subscription is canceled, expires, or otherwise ends, the territory may be released.

6. Refunds and credits

Except where required by law or expressly approved for a duplicate, erroneous, or otherwise exceptional charge, subscription fees already billed are non-refundable. Canceling a subscription stops future billing according to the effective cancellation timing shown in Stripe. A cancellation does not by itself create a right to a prorated refund for a billing period that has already begun.

7. No volume or outcome guarantee

TSC does not guarantee website traffic, inquiry volume, contactability, matter characteristics, retained clients, case quality, case value, legal fees, settlements, verdicts, or financial results. Each firm independently evaluates every inquiry, performs its own conflict checks, and decides whether representation is appropriate.

8. Attorney responsibilities

Participating firms remain responsible for their own professional obligations, advertising and solicitation rules, conflicts, confidentiality, client intake, engagement agreements, communications, fee arrangements, legal advice, and representation. TSC does not form an attorney-client relationship between a consumer and a participating firm.

9. Consumer choice and no endorsement

Consumers are not required to hire a participating attorney. Paid participation does not mean TSC has recommended, endorsed, ranked, or determined that a participating attorney is the best attorney for a consumer's matter.

10. Platform changes and termination

TSC may modify program features, routing criteria, territory definitions, or future rate cards when reasonably necessary to operate the platform. Material changes affecting an active paid subscription will be applied consistently with the subscription's billing status and applicable notice requirements. TSC may suspend or terminate participation for misuse, payment failure, legal or compliance concerns, or material violation of these terms.

11. Relationship to general site terms

These Attorney Territory Subscription Terms supplement the site's general Terms of Service. If a provision directly conflicts with the general Terms concerning an attorney territory subscription, these subscription-specific terms control for that subscription.
